Having a name like Potapova surely a winner.

Kasatkina sending Cornet packing with 6-2 and 6-1.. trying to make sure that she is home in time for the next unannounced Doping visit. How thoughtful from Dasha.

So far the QF looks perfect with Kasatkina, Ostapenko and Rybakina.

Australian Open champion Caroline Wozniacki continued her winning run with a dominant victory in her opening match at the St Petersburg Open.

The Dane needed 67 minutes to beat Russian Anastasta Potapova 6-0 6-1 to reach the last eight.

Potapova, 16, the world number 235, won the 2016 Wimbledon girls' title.

First time I saw her too... her first top10 win (she came out of qualies and now has beaten Bacsinszky and Garcia in her first MD matches). If I have to compare her with the '97 ers when they were 18yod, I would rather group her with Ostapenko/Gavrilova (and not with Kasatkina/Bencic). I also think that - despite her good wins here - a lot of more work is needed to get into the top50. Power was there, movement OK, some very nice rallies but sometimes too confident/aggressive/naive(?) and thus making errors that look clumsy and unnecessary. But her qualities were enough to beat Garcia. And she does has a chance vs Vinci or Goerges in the QF.

Edit: stats are on Tennisforum in that match thread: 47 winners for Rybakina (but 44 UE's too). A quick read on TF and it seems that many agree with most of my comments ;-)
The thread from two years ago... my comment on Rybakina at the time

Great scouting, Grav :)

She's gonna be really good!!

She needs a quick doubles partner to speed her up, and to build confidence at the net!!
