Rybakina won her first 6-1 6-1... one more win and she should be qualified; as first seeded, she would be the first LL.. and there is always someone dropping out...

At least Vickie Duval's match is on a show court (Ct. 4), so that I can watch same. Yesterday's matches of Lottner and Aiava weren't on such, missing tight 3 setters.

QF R2 was a bit tougher for Rybakina.... 6-2 6-1 instead of 6-1 6-1.... :-)

She is seeded #1 in the qualies and is in the last round. Correct me if I am wrong, but if she loses, she is first on the LL-list and with Anisimova out, there is already one vacancy.

So safe to assume that we will see Rybakina in the main draw? (unless my logic is somehow flawed)

Heather Watson just seemed to be in decline since her near-win 3rd rd match against Serena at Wimbledon 2015. That performance must've been an outlier.

It must really be hard losing in R1 Qualifiers. You gonna sit back watching your friends for the next 2 weeks, wishing you could be there.
I guess that should be enough motivation to hit the practice court to try to up your level so you can be in next slam's Main Draw.

Did you see how Vickery was cheated yesterday?? Up two match points and her opponent starts cramping and they allowed her to take a MTO under the guise she thought she pulled her quad!! Sascha lost the next four points and her chance to advance!!

Crazy!!
